We Need Each Other

Today I had the privilege to listen to my dear friend and mentor Sherry Surratt talk about “Engaging Women in Leadership”.  Sherry is the Director for Women’s Initiatives in Leadership for Leadership Network and she is one of the greatest champions for women leaders that I have ever met.  Every time I am near Sherry I feel inspired, encouraged and empowered – exactly what we say we want Cultivate Her to be about.  A few minutes with Sherry and I remember why I do what I do, I feel energized enough to keep going and I have a bit more confidence because I know another woman is out there thinking about me and praying for me.

If I’m learning anything in leadership these days, it’s that I want to be that kind of encouragement to other women around me.  So often I think we under-estimate the power of our voice in other women’s lives.  We truly need each other!

    Love this line you mention here:

    I think I'm going to put that up on my computer and in my car, so that I remember that for encounters with those women in my life. I'd love to be to them what Sherry is to you, all for the glory of God.
