Lead Leaders

*Post by Miranda Telford*

You have “arrived” as a leader in an organization, carrer, hobby or passion, when you can lead leaders.

We  must share the information and tools we have learned. Leading leaders means you are giving up control. You have celebrated the beauty of shared responsibility. You enjoy watching others soar.

My friend and boss Brewster (who is a big supporter of Cultivate Her) was helping me sort through some leadership struggles as the Vocal Leader at Cross Point. I was having trouble feeling important in this role because I wasn’t leading worship as much as I thought I should. He shared this analogy:

“Miranda, you are like a trained fighter pilot. You have worked really hard to be a good fighter pilot. And you LOVE to fly. But a fighter pilot has to train other fighter pilots. The fighter pilot still gets to fly sometimes, but he has much more influence when he shares his knowledge with others.”

-Parable by Brewster :)

It’s all about leading leaders.

Someone who knows how to lead leaders is Jenni Catron. She started Cultivate Her so she could help women find what they are passionate about, and pursue that with their whole heart.

She has always taken time to help me find my passions and my strengths. Cultivate Her is the reason I mustered up the courage to start Girls Night with the female vocalists on our music team.

We hope to see you TONIGHT at our first Cultivate Her meeting of 2011 at 6:30 PM at the Cross Point Bellevue Campus. Come READY to cultivate the passions God has placed in your heart.

I need to learn how to do that better in our production team… to LEAD others to LEAD (aka = direct).

Brewster is awesome! :-) What a great analogy for you! As someone who gets to enjoy the finished product, you are doing a tremendous job leading!!

I’m really excited to come to Cultivate Her tonight! I believe several Stretch ladies are coming for sure. I know I need more Godly women to influence my life and me grow as a leader.

See you tonight sweet girl! Keep smiling!!

This is exactly what I have been realizing lately – and honestly, I want to give up some of this "control" I have. I am actually finding myself crying out to God for people to crop up in the people I have around me so I can start pouring into them on the leadership level.

It is scary, but it is worth it – and what God wants us doing. Disciples making disciples – that is the whole process of how He works, and how He wants us to duplicate how He works.

    Great reminder today! Thank you!
