Think a New Thought

*Post by Diana Sumpter*

There is nothing more powerful than a fresh start, which is why I love the New Year.  2011 can be different and one of the most powerful ways to make this year better is to change what we think about.

What thoughts are you bringing into the New Year?

The past 6 months I have been committed to “thinking a new thought” in all areas of my life. I decided to invest my time and money to go sit at the feet of women I respected who are:

-Successful in business
-Have strong walks with Christ
-Have strong marriages
-Have great relationships with their kids
-AND have balance with all of the above.
:)

I needed to hear what they thought and how they responded to situations.  I knew if I kept doing what I was doing, I would keep getting what I was getting and that was no longer good enough.

Remember that yesterday ends at midnight.  Yesterday was the result of habits and thoughts from the day before.  We need to release those thoughts and start with a clean slate each day.  Regardless of our external circumstances, we can choose our new thoughts.  Those thoughts change what we tell ourselves and in turn will change our attitude, passion and habits.  From there we will attract a different result and momentum begins.  It all starts with a “new thought” grounded in God’s Word.

“How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me.” Psalm 13:22

This is not an easy practice. It is a minute by minute wrestling match of who you will serve and how you think each day.

-Faith or Fear?
-Live in Abundance or Meander in Maze of Mediocrity?
-Be Positive or Negative?
-Be Selfish or Serve Others?

What will be your “New Thoughts” for 2011?
